1. Paid charges are generally final
Once a subscription payment has been successfully charged, the charge is generally final. This includes monthly and yearly subscriptions, renewals, trial-to-paid conversions, upgrades, reactivations, and payments made through Stripe Checkout or Stripe-hosted billing surfaces.
2. No discretionary refunds
We do not provide discretionary or prorated refunds for unused time, accidental continued use, dissatisfaction, not passing an exam, not using the product, switching products, account deletion, or forgetting to cancel before renewal or trial conversion. Your mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
3. Cancel anytime
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the billing area or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals. It does not refund the already-paid billing period. Paid access normally remains available until the end of the current period, unless fraud, abuse, chargeback handling, account deletion, or legal obligations require a different outcome.
4. Trials and trial conversion
Trials, where available, are managed by Stripe. Stripe shows the applicable trial terms, payment timing, and billing interval during checkout or in the Stripe-hosted pricing surface. If you do not want to be charged after a trial, cancel before the trial ends. After Stripe successfully charges the payment method, the payment is final unless one of the limited exceptions applies.
5. Limited exceptions
We will review billing issues when a refund is required by mandatory law, the same period was charged twice by mistake, Stripe or our billing records show a clearly incorrect amount, a charge is verified as unauthorized or fraudulent, or paid access was not delivered because of a verified platform issue and could not be restored within a reasonable time. These exceptions do not create a satisfaction guarantee.
6. How to request a billing review
If you believe a charge falls under one of these exceptions, email hello@bitesinbyte.com. Please include your account email, invoice or payment date, the affected amount, and the reason for your request. We review the case using this policy, Stripe or payment records, and mandatory law.
7. Germany/EU withdrawal rights
If you are a consumer in Germany, the EU, or another region with mandatory withdrawal rights, those rights apply where they cannot be validly limited or waived. Because Fachsprachtrainer provides immediate digital access, checkout or terms may ask for express consent to begin performance immediately and the legally required acknowledgement about loss or limitation of withdrawal rights. If that consent was not validly collected, we handle requests under applicable law rather than relying only on the general no-refund rule.
8. Product-specific subscriptions
Fachsprachtrainer and Kenntnistrainer subscriptions are separate product subscriptions unless a checkout screen explicitly says otherwise. A Fachsprachtrainer subscription does not automatically unlock Kenntnistrainer. Switching between products does not automatically create a prorated refund right.
9. Exam and learning outcomes
Fachsprachtrainer is a training tool. It does not guarantee exam admission, exam results, language certification, medical licensing, recognition, employment, or a specific learning outcome. Refunds are not issued because of an exam outcome or performance result.
10. Chargebacks and payment disputes
If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first at hello@bitesinbyte.com so we can review it. A payment dispute or chargeback may cause Stripe or Fachsprachtrainer to restrict access while the dispute is reviewed. Chargeback decisions follow payment-network rules and do not override mandatory legal rights.
